| IFAS upgrade - The 7i (web interface) upgrade to IFAS will be rolled out to the Business Division by December, 2008. The web interface will be available to the schools in conjuction with the 7.9 version upgrade in July, 2010.

Records Management Supervisor - A new position has been created in the Information Technology Department to manage the retention and destruction schedules for documents in the ASD. Debbie Blurry comes to us from the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District and will start work on October 1, 2008. Debbie will be charged with verifying a records retention/destruction policy, educating and training staff on legal requirements and helping us to become efficient and effective in the archiving and recovery of our documents.
Chief Information Officer (CIO) - Jeff Wood moved to San Antonio to head up a massive project linking three county's fire and police department data systems. Good luck to Jeff! Jane Berglund has moved into the CIO position as of July 1, 2008 with Heather Snead as her Executive Assistant. Jane has been in the IT Department for 25 years and has been telling people what to do for so long, it just seemed like a natural fit. |
