New Employee Orientation
To help ensure a smooth transition into the Anchorage School District, the Training and Professional Development Department offers a required training for all staff new to our district. The New Employee Orientation is offered on a regular basis at the ASD Education Center. To reserve your space, be sure to log in to MLP and sign up for one of the remaining sessions for this year:

New Teacher Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Training
Teachers new to ASD must also complete a state training on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome within 45 days of hire. This is a short, online training that you may take when it best meets your schedule from any computer with Internet access.
To register for this training, you must complete two steps:
- Sign up for the session in MLP. Please note that the start date for this training will be the beginning of each semester so you must set the search date in the MLP catalog back to before the first day of the semester.
- Email Groeneveld_Candy@asdk12.org and request your name be submitted to the state for training access.
The state will email you your login information and you may complete the training at your own speed. Candy will mark your MLP account complete a the end of the quarter when she has received notification from the state that you are done. Please remember to complete it within 45 days of your hire.
