Elementary SBAR After a year of hard work, the Standards Based Assessment and Reporting (SBAR) committee developed a set of rubrics for 4th and 5th grades, for assessing musical standards. Teachers from eight different elementary schools then piloted these rubrics. Pilot means "try it out!" We received a lot of feedback and positive criticism, which has helped us go forward in the development of a more workable and valuable set of assessments. Now, after a second year of hard work, we have completed drafts for all grades, K-5. They are referred to as "drafts," because they will always be works in progress. The plan is to expand the pilot for the 2010/11 school year, to include more teachers and more grades, using their feedback to make revisions and define the SBAR direction for the future.
