Atoms are building blocks of all
matter. o Construct a model of an atom
placing neutrons, protons and electrons in their appropriate
positions relative to each other and identify the charge of
each subatomic particles. Matter may undergo
changes. 1. When matter
undergoes a physical change, some physical properties of the
matter may change, but the structure remains the
same. (AKSci - A.2,
A.8a) o Identify examples of physical
change. o Compare motion of particles in a
gas, liquid, and solid. o Design and conduct an experiment
that illustrates the motion of particles. Matter has properties that can
be measured. o Design a toy and defend the
choice of materials used based on the material's
characteristic physical properties.
