History Documents
This page will be an expanding repository of links to digital versions of primary documents for the teaching of American History. We might even store a collection of documents that are especially useful to our ASD teachers right here...
TeachingAmericanHistory.org Document Library
Contains a list of letters, speeches, documents, web sites, books, and articles on signifcant people and events in American political thought and history. Rather than being a comprehensive list of available resources, it is meant to be a list of the best resources available on the given subject.
Project Gutenberg eText Archive
Project Gutenberg is the oldest producer of free electronic books (eBooks or etexts) on the Internet. Their collection of more than 13.000 eBooks was produced by hundreds of volunteers. Most of the Project Gutenberg eBooks are older literary works that are in the public domain in the United States. But there are many other documents too. All may be freely downloaded and read, and redistributed for non-commercial use
