Colleen Stevens Named as the Director of Training and Professional Development - ASD Button MLP Button Calendar Button |

On September 2, 2005 Colleen Stevens was named as the Director of Training and Professional Development for the Anchorage School District. Colleen replaces Dr. Robb Boyer as the TPD Director. Dr. Boyer has taken over the position as the Director of Certificated Staff in Human Resources. We would like to extent best wishes to Robb, and welcome Colleen to her new position

NCLB Highly Qualified Certificates now available
Teachers, you can receive a certificate indicating NCLB “Highly Qualified” Status upon request. If you would like a certificate, email your request to Pat Madden at madden_pat@asdk12.org after you receive notification of your “highly qualified” status through MyLearningPlan. Certificates will be sent to you at your work location through district mail.
Supports for Teachers and Paraprofessionals
Training and Professional Development offers support for teachers and paraprofessionals in meeting NCLB requirements. Check out TPD website ( http://www.asdk12.org/depts/staff_dev) and Anchorage School District website ( http://www.asdk12.org/nclb) for more information.

- Praxis II Study Groups for credit
- Addenda for qualified test-takers and for Praxis II credit classes.

Need help at your school completing the HQT Form? Principals, contact Pat Madden at 742-4775 to schedule a time for your teachers to complete the HQT Form with assistance on-site.

- Math, Reading, & Written Expression Support Classes
- Individual Assistance with MLP in lime lab at TPD
