What a Provocative Victim Looks Like

  • Unable to concentrate on school work
  • Fidgety
  • Nervous
  • Perhaps loud
  • Interruptive
  • Hyperactive
  • Clumsy
  • Immature
  • Has irritating or nasty habits
  • Lacks social sense
  • Reacts violently when bullied
  • Blurts things out
  • Irks adults as much as peers
  • Evokes negative feelings in everyone
  • Aggressive reaction pattern
  • May try to bully weaker students
  • Provides a form of entertainment for those that bully
  • Not readily comforted by adults
  • Often punished for their reaction to the bullying
  • Become distrustful of adult "justice"
  • May by gifted and learning disabled at same time
  • Provocative victims have ADHD-like symptoms
  • Very immature compared to their peers
  • Slow development of inhibition and self-regulation
  • Provocative victims try to fight back when attacked BUT THEY ARE NOT GOOD AT IT!
