Summer Academy (ASDSA) 2007

At the 2007 ASDSA, Kathy Ullock took us on a tour of Camelot, and we discovered how all students need a Merlin to look over  them. Her handout includes the key elements of strong advisory programs. Kathy  also provided us 50 things that great teams do. No matter your subject area,  all teachers should read about the role of the Exploratory/Elective  Team.

  Kathy used these symbol cards to promote discussion. As a small group, we had to agree on 5 symbols that represented to us the fundamentals of a middle school program. We had to explain our thinking when we presented to the rest of the class. Page two of this PDF file is a bit crooked, but when xeroxed and sliced apart, it shouldn't impact the activity.
