Grade Level Expectations (GLEs)
There are several places to download the GLEs. Please make sure you check back frequently as the GLEs are reviewed and updated on an “as needed” basis.

Some fast facts about reading the GLEs: |

Anything underlined indicates it is new information for the grade level. This means that you can look below and above your grade level to follow a particular curriculum strand. |

An asterisk (*) means that the GLE might be worded the same from a previous grade, but more complex text is used to make the GLE rigorous and grade appropriate. |

An (L) next to a GLE means that it won't be tested on the SBAs. This does not mean the GLE won't be assessed. The (L) stands for local, which means teachers are expected to assess the GLE in their own way. |

This web site is home to the State of Alaska GLEs. You can also find teacher resources and a lesson plan bank to address the GLEs.
This web site is local, and it posts the GLEs with the Anchorage School District GLEs embedded into it. In some cases, ASD felt the state GLEs did not go deep enough into a topic, so a district GLE has been added.
