Students select “wolves” as mascot for Eagle River High School, blue and silver as colors
Middle school and high students who live within the attendance area of the new Eagle River High School have chosen “wolves” as their future school’s mascot and navy blue and silver as its colors. The students made their choice by ballot, casting votes for wolves, titans or tigers as the mascot and blue-silver, purple-silver, or red-silver-black as the colors. The choices on the ballot were determined by a student committee. In all, 187 ballots were turned in to the school.
The new high school opens in September 2005, and will serve about 800 students.
Anchorage’s comprehensive high schools have the following mascots and colors:
