Charter Schools

Charter schools are non-sectarian, public schools that operate within the district. Any person, group or organization may apply to the School Board to operate a charter school. Charter schools offer alternative teaching methods or curriculum and more independence than regular public schools, and set their own calendars.

Charter schools are established upon the approval of the local School Board and the State Board of Education.
