2011-2012 REGISTRATION INFORMATION

West High Counseling Office will open July 25. Office Staff for registration are:

Registration/Activation Schedule:

Seniors: Monday, August 1st
Juniors: Tuesday, August 2nd 
Sophomores: Wednesday, August 3rd
Freshmen: Thursday, August 4th

Students with last name beginning with M - Z: 8:00 - 11:00
Students with last name beginning with A - L: 12:00 - 3:00

Please Note: If you will be out of town during that week, you will need to email either Cheri Dahl or Yolanda Fuerer and let them know that you plan on attending West High School.

REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION for new or transferring students:

1. Proof of residency in the West High attendance area showing address of parent(s) or legal guardian(s).

We can use: Current bill (i.e. gas, electric, cable) addressed to parent or legal guardian, purchase or lease agreement, or utility hook-up agreement.

We cannot use: Checkbook, written rental receipt, state ID or driver's license, mail addressed to "occupant" or to someone other than the parent or legal guardian.

2. Updated immunization (shot) records.

3. New to district students with IEPS should bring in the most current IEP and Eligibility Report to registration.

4. For transfer students outside ASD, current transcript with grades and credits earned to date, and proof that student has matriculated from the 8th to 9th grade for 9th graders entering from a school outside of the Anchorage School District. (This may be faxed to our office at 907-742-2615.)

5. Discipline records reflecting any out-of-school disciplinary actions or the absence of such actions.

6. Notarized statement giving temporary legal guardianship to the individual(s) with whom the student will be residing if the student is not residing with a parent.

7. Copy of birth certificate (requested but not required.)

SCHEDULE CHANGES

Students who have an incomplete schedule, are placed in an incorrect class, or who failed any spring classes may need to see a counselor during registration.

Counselors will not be available for students wishing to change their schedules during registration/activation week because they will be registering new students. However, a "Request for Schedule Change form " located in the registration area may be filled out during registration.
