Great gains in reading and math scores
Student test scores for the Standards Based Assessments (SBA) and the
High School Graduation Qualifying Exam (HSGQE) showed substantial
academic progress in reading and math. The improvements are the result
of focused efforts by teachers, support staff and administrators working
closely with the data to enhance instruction. Elementary reading scores
continued several years of steady progress, middle school reading and
math scores show significant gains and more high school students are
passing the math portion of the HSGQE on their first try. Details of the
