Preschool programs help young children learn the skills and knowledge they need to enter school ready to achieve and excel at learning. Preschool programs are federally funded and not available at every school.
Some preschool programs have special eligibility requirements; please call the school to determine if your child is eligible.

Types of preschool programs
The Anchorage School District provides Title I, Kids’ Corp. Inc. (KCI) Head Start, Migrant and Special Education preschool classrooms in the schools listed below. Please call the school to determine if your student is eligible. Download the preschool program flier for more information. (PDF)
ASD preschool sites
Children must be four years old by September 1, 2013 to participate in ASD preschool programs. Contact the ASD Title I program at 907-742-3835 for registration details.

ASD/Kids' Corp & Head Start
Creekside and Willow Crest programs are operated as an ASD partnership with Kids' Corp. Inc. The Gladys Wood program is operated solely by Kids' Corp. Inc. Head Start.
- Migrant-eligible students
Denali Montessori and Wonder Park Elementary pre-kindergarten programs are available only to Migrant-eligible students.

- Special Education
The Preschool Special Education Program provides services for children ages 3 to 5 who experience developmental delays or other disabilities. Contact the ASD Special Education Department for more information.
- Early Intervention Services Center
EISC offers free developmental screenings for children ages 3-5 years in the following areas: motor skills, concepts, communication, self-help, social skills and health. Visit the EISC website for more information.
Welcome to ASD

The zone exemption and lottery application deadline for the spring lottery is March 27, 2014. The lottery is run on March 28 with parent notification beginning April 4.
Preschool programs operate:
Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Breakfast and lunch included
Transportation is included at most locations.
