FEES

Activity fees are:

$175 per activity – tennis, cross country running, cheerleading, track and field, drama debate/forensics

 

$185 per activity – flag football, volleyball, cross country skiing, football, wrestling, basketball, riflery, soccer

 

$195 per activity – gymnastics, swimming and diving, hockey

 

A $5 concussion baseline fee is required for all sports (no waivers)

 

The activity fees are required unless:

 

  • a student applies for and receives a fee waiver based on hardship through the school activity office
  • or a family meets the $390 cap* for middle or high school activity fees.

 

*A family cap will be implemented once the students in a family have paid $390 to participate in activities including any combination of middle and high school activities.

 

Please note: Baseball, softball and bowling are not sponsored by ASD. Separate fees must be paid to the individual sponsor for these sports. These fees do not count toward ASD's family cap.

ELIGIBILITY

Students must meet the eligibility standards of the Anchorage School District and the Alaska School Activities Association to participate in activities. More information about eligibility, conditions of participation and letter award criteria can be found in the High School Activities Handbook (PDF) Section 3.

 

ASAA eligibility rules can found on the ASAA website.

 

The tobacco, alcohol, and controlled substances policy of the ASAA requires students and parents to watch a video and sign an acknowledgement form. Get more information and see the "Play for Keeps" video on the ASAA website. "Play for Keeps" is also broadcast regularly on ASD-TV Channel 14. Search the Channel 14 schedule for program times.

HOW TO REGISTER

When registering to participate in an activity please have the following:

 

  • Health Exam form (PDF) signed by doctor, student and parent/guardian. Health exams are good for one year and must be current through the season of the sport.
