Welcome to ASD's Equal Employment Opportunity Office. In the Anchorage
School District, both quality of work and quality of life
are valued. The primary goal
of EEO is to support the School Board's Mission to "educate all students for
success in life" by respecting diversity, accepting and celebrating individual
differences, and valuing all employees. We believe
that when we do those
things, we develop what is best in each individual and
strengthen their commitment to share their best
with students.
The mission of the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Department
is to:
-
Continue implementation of a comprehensive districtwide
Diversity Plan that is designed to recruit and retain
a qualified and diverse workforce.
The term "diversity" is used broadly to refer to many demographic variables,
including, but not limited to, race, religion, color,
gender, national origin,
disability, sexual orientation, age, education, geographic
origin, and skill characteristics.
-
Maintain the District's commitment to equal employment opportunity and
access to programs, services, and activities throughout
the District.
-
Assist in conflict resolution through the management
and investigation of internal, federal and state
discrimination complaints, including harassment,
ADA Title IX, and 504 complaints.
