Spring DRA Assessment and Phonics/Decoding Screening Test (April 12 - May 14)
Please check the assessment flow chart for your grade level* to see who should be given the Spring DRA assessment and the Phonics/Decoding Screening Test. Go to the assessment page to get charts. Kindergarten and first grade teachers receive two full sub days through the reading initiative to complete assessments for their entire class. All other grade levels receive up to a full day, depending on need.
*NOTE: A recent decision changes the requirements for second grade DRA assessment. Second grade teachers are now required to assess only non-proficient readers and any students for which they have a concern. They do NOT have to assess their entire class.
