The Native Advisory Committee is an advisory committee to the Title VII Indian Education Program and Anchorage School District Board comprised of volunteer citizens who meet the following qualifications:
  • is interested in improving education for Alaska Native/Native American students and commitment to the purpose of the Anchorage School District Title VII Indian Education Program;
  • is willing and able to attend meetings regularly;
  • is committed to working toward increased communication with the community in the conduct of NAC affairs;

The stated purpose of the committee is to review and make recommendations to the Title VII Indian Education Program and to the School Board relating to the education of Alaska Native/Native American students K through 12 districtwide.

The NAC meets once each month. Special meetings or non-scheduled meetings may be called by the chair from time to time. The total approximate time of eight hours per month is required for NAC members.

Committee meetings, 2011-12

The Native Advisory Committee generally meets once a month on Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. For more information please call the Title VII Indian Education Office at 907-742-4445. Please note that dates and locations are subject to change.
