My name is Ella Tonuchuk. I am Yup’ik, originally from Kotlik, AK, a rural village that lies on the mouth of the Yukon River. I have been living in Anchorage for five years now. I am a part-time student with Alaska Pacific University, B.A. Elementary Education and minor in Psychology and Human Services. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, this includes watching a lot of movies (we are movie fanatics). I also enjoy going to the gym from time to time and would love to start playing basketball the way I used to in high school as well as Eskimo dancing is one thing I really want to get back into. This is my fifth school year with the school district and all the years with Indian Education. My specialty is tutoring in reading with a little bit of math time. My goal is to at least service all students. When I do not service academically, I try to serve culturally such as holding indoor recess for sewing and beading time. The best way to reach me is by e-mail and I often try to listen to voicemail when possible. By the way, Indian Education has been great. The program literally takes care of you and supports you at all times. This is why I love my job so much. Thanks! |
