I was born in Homer, Alaska. For most of my childhood my family lived in Anchorage, although my family returned to Cook Inlet and/or Bristol Bay for fishing/berry picking seasons. Both my parents were born in the Lake Iliamna area. I am Athabascan, Aleut, Russian, German, Norwegian, and Danish.
I have been working in the education field for many years. I worked for Anchorage Community College, the University of Alaska Anchorage, and have been with the Anchorage School District since 1996.
