Born and raised in Hoonah, a small village in Southeast Alaska sometimes referred to as the "Banana Belt". I attended B.I.A. Elementary school in Hoonah until the 8th grade. I then attended Mt. Edgecumbe Boarding School in Sitka. I graduated May 1953. After getting married and having a family, I went to college at the University of Washington where I graduated in 1975. I have worked for ASD since March 1980 and I retired July 2000. I am still working part-time. I have three grandchildren, Danielle a freshman at East, Allan and Kellinda both attend the Alaska Native Cultural Charter School. I have been married for 49 years. My favorite past time is with my grandchildren, fishing, beadwork and dancing in our dance group. |
