Heather received her BA in Physical Education/Psychology from San Diego State University. She continued on for her Master's in Education, with an emphasis in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University in 1980. She taught regular physical education in California for 22 years before transplanting to Alaska. Since then she has received her National Certification in Adapted Physical Education, becoming a C.A.P.E. in 2001, and returned to SDSU in the summer of 2002 to obtain her State Certification for APE. Heather served on the AKAHPERD Board as Special Populations Representative from 2002-2005 and was a co-author of the PEP Grant. In 2007, she was selected to attend the National
Paralympic Academy at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. |
