Technical Help for the Online Climate and Connectedness Survey
After reviewing technical difficulties from the 2008 administration we have found that the Safari browser on Macintosh Computers was not always working with the survey. Firefox, on the other hand, was working for users. Survey Monkey has a technical website that you may reference: http://www.surveymonkey.com/helpcenter/Answer.aspx?HelpID=143&q=javascript. Here are a few possible choices we have found that might help you complete the survey; they are in no particular order.
Option 1: Firefox
Some users may find that the Safari browser pops up instead of Firefox. This occurs because it is the default browser on many computers. In order to fix this you can open Firefox, then copy and paste the survey link into the Firefox browser.
- The staff survey link will be available from January 20 - Feb 6, 2009.
- The parent suvey link will be available from March 23 - June 30, 2009
Option 2: Safari Fix Number 1
Enable Javascript in Safari:
- Select Preferences from the Safari menu
- Click Security
- Check Enable JavaScript
- Close the window
- Click Reload
- If necessary, copy and paste the survey link into the browser window
Option 3: Safari Fix Number 2
Enable cookies in Safari (if the method above did not help):
- Click on the Safari-Menu
- Click on the Preferences... item in the menu - a new window opens
- Click on the Security icon near the top of the window
- Under Accept Cookies the option "Always or Only from sites you navigate to" must be selected
- Save changes by clicking Ok
- Click Reload
- If necessary, copy and paste the survey link into the browser window
Option 4: PDF of Survey
- Staff:
- Staff can complete the survey in paper form and use interschool mail to send the completed survey to Assessment
and Evaluation.

Parents/Guardians:
- Parents/Guardians may pick up a paper copy from the front office of their child's school.
