The Migrant Education Program in the Anchorage School District is funded by the U.S. Department of Education under Title I, Part C. Program services are delivered from three family literacy centers as well as from seven Title I schools. The literacy centers are located at North Star Elementary School, Hanshew Middle School, and Northeast Community Center, in the south end of the Muldoon Mall. The mission statement of the program is: "The Migrant Education Program will assist families and students in becoming self-sufficient." One of the program's primary objectives is "to help migrant education families function effectively in the Anchorage community." |
