Community Resources

The Community Resources department schedules three (3) major types of activities for our schools:

Assemblies — An assembly provides activities for larger than classroom-sized groups for cultural, career or subject-related experiences.
Classroom Speakers — Community members come into the classroom to offer teachers an excellent tool for expanding the learning opportunities available to their students.
Field Trips — Student groups visit community facilities to gain exposure to the physical environments of the different sectors of our community. These groups also have an opportunity to observe and explore the attitudes, activities and skills involved in a particular cultural or work activity.

Acts as point of contact for schools interested in field trips or speakers relating to specific educational topics.
Acts as primary contact for community groups or companies that would like to present programs for the students.
Arranges transportation on the People Mover buses.

	Handbook and form
»	Anyone can download the Community Resources Handbook, a complete how-to guide for scheduling resources.
»	ASD Employees can access the Community Resources Request Form on the District Connection in the Forms Library. All forms require a principal or supervisor approval. (This site is available only to employees on a computer connected to the district's network.)
