Substitute Teaching Information
The Anchorage School District provides a quality education for all students
every day of school whether the classroom teacher
is present or a "Guest
Teacher" (substitute teacher) is teaching the students. We welcome your employment application for this critical position!
Automatic registration for substitutes who worked in 2007-08 |
For the 2008-09 school year, substitutes who are interested in continuing with their employment will not need to pre-register. If you have worked five days during the school year you will automatically be registered. We will be sending you an informational packet in August indicating changes in the system. If you are currently on judicial probation you will not be considered for a substitute position.

- Interns – Please bring your official transcripts with your bachelors posted to the Sub Dispatch office in the Human Resources Department by August 2008.
- PE, Art, & Music – These jobs may be itinerant which means you would travel to multiple sites during the course of the day. Please read/listen carefully to ‘special instructions’ for jobs of this type. If you cannot or are not willing to travel please cancel yourself from the job.
