November 20th Fall Gathering: Monday, November 20th is a day of professional development designed to help you finalize your School-based Project Assessment Plan and to prepare to teach colleagues at your school in the Afterschool Workshop sessions.

TTL Tuesdays: TTLs want and need more time learning the software/hardware features of the technology you received through your participation in TTL professional development. TTL Tuesdays offers this kind of learning. Classes are held in the iTech Lab @ the Anchorage Education Center and are taught by your TTL4 Steering Committee members. TTL Tuesdays are open to all TTLs (1-4).

TTL Steering Committee: Steering Committee applications are open until 5:00 PM on Monday, November 27th. Don't miss out on this opportunity to be a leader within the TTL4 community!

ASTE Conference: The Alaska Society for Technology in Education (ASTE) conference will beheld on February 24-25 (Pre-Conference) and February 26-27 (Conference)! Unfortunately, due to funding cuts from the federal government we were not be able to pay for registration and subs for all TTL participants, but we are hoping to be able to support those that present at the conference. Visit the ASTE website (http://aste.org) to learn more.

February 1st & 2nd Training: TTL 1's, 2's, 3's, & 4's will participate in two days of professional development designed to take technology integration and operation skills further! These training days will be arranged in a conference format where participants choose topics of interest to them. iTech staff will facilitate the sessions. This training is required for all TTL 4's but optional for all other TTL's. In previous years, we heard lots of comments from TTL participants that these days were incredibly helpful to them!

Responsibilities:

Afterschool Workshops @ Your School: To help build capacity for technology integration with your school-based colleagues, each TTL school has been budgeted $200 to cover 2 Afterschool Workshops. It is expected that each of the TTLs will teach/co-teach an Afterschool Workshop at his/her school. Afterschool Workshop topics should be based on individual building staff needs. For each class, a total of $100 will be paid in addendum for the TTL instructor(s) Note: if you choose to team teach then the TTL instructors will split the $100. Each school is responsible for offering 2 Afterschool Workshop classes, and each TTL must participate in leading at least 1 class session. Each Afterschool Workshop class will be 2 hours in length. Afterschool Workshop classes are targeted for the months of January - March.

Mid-term Podcast and Final Report on School-Based TTL Project: In order to facilitate our reporting process to the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development, the funding agency that gives us money to offer the TTL program, we will need each TTL school to submit a Midterm Podcast in March and a Final Report in May regarding the impact your project has on student learning in the areas identified in your grant proposal. During our November 20th Fall Gathering, each school will use the TTL Assessment Guide to finalize the goals and assessment plan for their School-Based Project. Additional information and training on the How To's of Podcasting will occur during our February 1st & 2nd Training. Please don’t hesitate to contact Mary should you need assistance in this area.

Re-Visit of Philosophy of Technology Use in the Classroom: The opportunity to be a reflective practitioner is of critical importance. Consequently, we have created this opportunity for you to reflect on how your philosophy has changed through the process of integrating technology in your classroom. During the summer you wrote a philosophy statement, and you can choose to revise this statement or start over again. Bring a print out of your revised philosophy statement to our February 1st Training, and also bring a print out of a one-paragraph reflection on how your philosophy changed between the summer and now.

  • Re-Visit of Philosophy of Technology Use in the Classroom - Project Guide
  • One paragraph reflection on how your philosophy changed is due February 1st
