Educational TechnologyPrincipal Laptop ProjectNews!"We have come face to face with technologies that are now threatening the existing culture of teaching and learning. We will either try to defend the status quo or we will carefully analyze the risks of moving forward to provide powerful role models for our students." - Anne Davis, Educational Consultant - Georgia (http://anne.teachsme.com) Technology Resources for the Savvy AdministratorWe are experiencing an explosion of online communities. Web 2.0 resources and tools make it easy for users of any age to contribute and collaborate online. The millennials (youth in our schools) are digital natives to the technology and information age. They are no longer content to read static web pages; they expect to be able to read and comment on the content or contribute to the content to make connections to their world through the online environment. The creation of Web 2.0 tools and applications make it easy for all of us to create social bookmarks, belong to social networks, collaborate through wikis and blogs. Our Internet Guidelines and Acceptable Use Policies need to be fluid enough to encompass the changes and growth these tools provide; at the same time offer clear guidance for educators to be able to use these tools responsibly as an effective tool in the 21st century school. The following resources are provided to increase your knowledge in this area...
