Cook Inlet Literacy Council (CILC)
CILC is local affiliate of the Alaska State Literacy Association and the International Reading Association, who has been proudly supporting literacy in Anchorage for 40 years. They are comprised of a group of educators who network and collaborate to support literacy instruction and education.
International Reading Association (IRA)
A professional organization for those involved in teaching reading to learners of all ages. Members are dedicated to promoting high levels of literacy for all.
National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE)
Since 1911, NCTE has worked to advance teaching, research, and student achievement in English language arts at all scholastic levels.
National Writing Project (NWP)
The National Writing Project (NWP) is a professional development network that serves teachers of writing at all grade levels, primary through university, and in all subjects. The mission of the NWP is to improve student achievement by improving the teaching of writing and improving learning in the nation’s schools.
