Introduction: Placement of the Prefix, Class and Cutter is a crucial key to building an accurate MARC record

  • OFT process requires library media staff to select the format of the material, and to then place the call number in Prefix, Class, Cutter by the type of item within the selected format.
  • When adding an item to an existing record, review Type of item or Alpha list.
