Mark Item Used
Using the Mark Item Used wizard to create in-house statistics. Marking items used is a way to keep count of items used but not actually checked out of the library. Items retrieved from the various areas of the library, such as the Reference section, may be marked as used for statistical purposes. These items are not actually checked out but are used by students.
How to mark items as used: 1. Click on the Mark Item Used wizard 2. In the Mark Item used window, scan the item's ID number. As you scan, a list is created, displaying the call number, copy, and item ID of each item. 3. An alert message can display after you scanned the item. For example, if an item is already checked out, the user who checked out the item displays. Note: Using Mark Item Used for any purpose other than counting in-house use of library materials will skew the ability to maintain accurate statistics. If you use this function for any other purpose other than keeping count of items used do not expect accurate statistics. Monthly statistics of checkouts do not currently include in-house numbers, although that number can be tabulated separately. Libraries that use this wizard will receive a report via email each month. Contact Terri Schweizer at Library Resources, 742-6093, for information on in-house statistics.
