Offline /Standalone Mode

Workflows will record transactions in Offline mode. In Offline mode the application is limited to Check Items In and Check Items Out. There are no search or data retrieval capabilities in Offline mode. The transaction data is stored on the local machine until Offline is no longer in use and then uploaded to the server when Library Resources runs a load report.
Three steps need to be taken to prepare for the function Offline mode
Step 1
Configuration window needs to be reviewed.
To review the Configuration window
1. Log into Workflows
2. Select Preference from the top menu bar
3. Click on Configuration
4. Click the box Show this window at start up Figure 1

Step 2
To function in Offline mode
Double click on the GL3 Workflows icon, the configuration window will automatically open when the Show this window at startup check box is checked

Step 3
Workflows application launches immediately when you check the Operate in offline mode box and click OK button. There is no site specific log in Figure 3

Step 4
The function of Offline mode is to record transactions and then load them to the server automatically when offline is no longer in use.
The Set Session wizard fields, User access and Library, need to be set to:
1. User Access: Circ
2. Library: your school Figure 4
3. Click OK button
4. An option is a default due date
5. Select a default due date by using the gadget to the right of the field

Step 5
Click CheckOut or Discharging wizards
1. Scan student/staff ID
2. Scan item
Note: Transactions are stored in a folder created automatically by the action of selecting Offline mode. The folder is titled Logs, located: C:\Documents and Settings\(XP log in folder i.e. however you log in to the computer, Localtech, Libasst or your personal log in)\SIRSI\Workflows\Log.
The file path can be followed by clicking the gadget to the right of the Log directory field. Figure 5
