The Anchorage School District library program...

* The most comprehensive collection of children and young people's literature in Alaska

The Anchorage School District (ASD) school libraries use SIRSI's Unicorn OPAC (online public access catalog) information retrieval system.

Each school library has a site specific library index as well as access to the districtwide union catalog. You can see the ASD library index on WebCAT.

Volunteer work is needed for information retrieval projects with all schools, preparing library material for the schools and updating the automated indexing system. Tasks include working with computers, alphabetizing, making spine labels, adding barcodes, searching bibliographic citations and using the Internet. Training is provided.
