Items that can be recycled

What's recyclable?

ASD is recycling mixed paper this year. Mixed-paper dumpster and paper collection bins for every classroom, office and work area are being supplied by the district.

 

Here’s what can and cannot be placed in the mixed-paper collection bins and dumpster (list also available as a PDF poster):

Items that can be recycled
  • Brown paper bags
  • Cardboard – corrugated boxes, please flatten
  • Clean pizza boxes
  • Copy paper
  • Colored paper
  • File and hanging file folders
  • Gift wrap
  • Glossy paper
  • Index cards
  • Magazines, catalogs and junk mail
  • Manila folders
  • Newspapers and paper inserts
  • Non-carbon forms
  • Paperback books
  • Paperboard – cereal boxes, paper towel rolls
  • Paper egg cartons
  • Paper ream wrappers
  • Plain and windowed envelopes
  • Post-It notes
  • Telephone books
     

     

     

Not recyclable at ASD
  • NO binder clips
  • NO food-soiled items
  • NO hard-cover books
  • NO milk cartons
  • NO paper plates, cups, napkins
  • NO paper towels, tissues or food wrappers
  • NO plastic bags or straps
  • NO twine or string
  • NO wax-coated paper
  • NO waxed corrugated cardboard
    * A minimal amount of tape or staples is acceptable
    * Please remove paper clips and reuse them
