Loss prevention and safety are core values of the Anchorage School District. The Risk Management Department is responsible for the prevention of accidents, injuries, and illnesses due to occupational exposure. In addition, the Risk Management Department is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for students, visitors, and contractors through hazard analysis and control. The Risk Management Department raises awareness of hazards with a wide variety of orientations, presentations, and worksite interventions. The purpose of this is to help eliminate hazards where possible and identify behaviors and conditions that contribute to accidents, illnesses, injuries and property losses.
