Best Practices, Volume VI, 2004

Accomplishments of 2003-2004

The second annual School Business Partnership Kick-Off Breakfast, Growing from Good to Great, was held on August 8, 2003 at Williwaw Elementary School. Speakers at the breakfast included Mayor Mark Begich, Ann Sponholz of the Alaska Process Industry Careers Consortium, SBP Chair Barbara Stallone, Superintendent Carol Comeau, and members of the Student Board. Bartlett student Angel Lopez and Brian Griggs YESS Director of Ft. Rich presented the SBP highlight. Carrs, Coca-Cola, First National Bank, and Dimond Greenhouses sponsored the breakfast.

Student Board President Dana Hubbard and Coordinator Ginny Cress presented information on the success of the Student Board’s Saturday Market booth. Coca-Cola sponsored the booth, which the youth entitled, Clearly Alaskan. Other sponsors of the booth included Anchorage Convention and Visitors Bureau, Big Game Alaska, GCI, and First National Bank.

Breakfast attendees were informed of the major accomplishments of the 2002-2003 school year and given copies of the 2003 Best Practices.
