For more than seven years, First National Bank Alaska, Elmendorf Air Force Base Branch and its employees have been most diligent about providing their resources, services, and support to Aurora Elementary School. As our School Business Partner, the dedicated and dependable First National staff and management have been instrumental in showing their personal, professional, and financial support to Aurora’s community. On numerous occasions our staff, students, and families have certainly benefited from the many acts of kindness resulting from our superb partnership.

This lending institution has been most exemplary at “lending” its time and resources to our success!

Many school sponsored activities/events and learning opportunities would not be possible without the thoughtful support of our business partner. They are truly an “education first” organization that gives back to our predominately military school community. They provide volunteers to take on roles as teachers, readers, judges, helpers, etc. for such activities as Math/Science Nights, Family Fun Nights, Science Fair, Family Read-In Nights, Fall and Spring Book Fairs. These are just a few of the many ways in which our school is supported by our partners throughout the school year. In addition, our teachers are afforded the opportunity to display their students’ creative artwork in the bank on a monthly basis.

As a newly assigned administrator to Aurora, I was most impressed when First National Bank manager and partner, Ms. Yolanda Wray took time from her busy schedule to personally stop by my office, introduce herself and offer the bank’s support throughout the year. I must say she has remained true to her word. We communicate frequently about effective ways and means to contribute to the educational success of our students. Believe me, this “lending” institution has been most exemplary at “lending” its time and resources to our success!
