National Award for Anchorage School Business Partnership

Table of contents

Anchorage School Business Partnership is nationally recognized as an exemplary program by the Council for Corporate & School Partnerships

Improving the academic, social and physical well-being of students continues to be a top priority of business and school partnerships across the country. In recognition of successful partnership efforts, the Council for Corporate & School Partnerships announced the 2005-2006 winners of the National School and Business Partnership Award.

The Council presents six awards each year. Those selected for the award receive national recognition and $10,000 to support continuing partnership efforts.

The Council is pleased to recognize the Anchorage School Business Partnership program as one of the six recipients nationwide to receive this 2005-2006 award. Congratulations to all the participants who made this program successful.

Winning partnerships make a positive impact on student achievement, school improvement, and/or overall educational experiences. The Council continues to be amazed by the impact that schools and businesses have when they work together. We have seen businesses contributing far beyond financial donations; they are sharing human resources to help schools build strong, safe and successful learning environments for students.

School Business Partnerships aren't impacting only test scores, attendance rates and after-school programs; they are improving communities. When schools and businesses come together, they tend to approach challenges with creative solutions since they bring two different perspectives to the table. This award program recognizes businesses for giving back to the community and also allows the Council to share success stories and role models for other schools and businesses across the nation to follow.

Congratulations to the Anchorage School Business Partnership program, the Anchorage School District, the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce and all others who participate in this program.
