This partnership was developed over a period of years as a way to provide incentives for students to show good citizenship and good work ethics at school.

Twice a month one student from classrooms in grades 4-6 who has shown exemplary behavior and/or academic excellence is selected by his/her teacher to go to lunch at Village Inn with the principal. The students are allowed to choose freely from the menu, and lunches are compliments of Village Inn.

Students feel honored and really look forward to an opportunity to have lunch with the principal and to be recognized for their outstanding behavior and academic achievements. In addition, parents appreciate the individual and positive attention given their students by the principal and staff at Village Inn. Village Inn gets a chance to observe a cross-section of our student body and to be a part of building good character and encouraging good self-esteem in our students.

Village Inn staff always gives special attention to the students visiting with the principal, complimenting them on their achievements and encouraging them to continue to be good students. Village Inn has also gone out of their way to support the Rogers Park staff, providing breakfasts at the beginning of the school year and also treats at other times during the school year. Their support epitomizes what it means to support neighbors in the community and to recognize good citizenship in our young people.

Students feel honored and really look forward to an opportunity to have lunch with the principal and to be recognized for their outstanding behavior and academic achievements.
