The 2007 school business partnership between the 611th Air Operations Group Volunteer Committee and Muldoon Elementary School represents a benchmark
of how our community’s schools and the military in Anchorage can partner
to achieve a greater good.
The 611th Air Operations Group Volunteer Committee brings personnel to Muldoon Elementary School motivated to make a difference in their community.
These service men and women are already firmly dedicated to the Air Force principles of integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do, so this partnership is another manifestation of the dedication our military has to making
our communities and world a better place.
In general terms, the 611th Air Operations Group Volunteer Committee personnel represent the U.S. military’s diversity – a group of people from many backgrounds and walks of life. At Muldoon Elementary School, they fulfill critical roles as mentors, tutors, and chaperones. As chaperones, members
of the 611th Air Operations Group Volunteer Committee fill a much needed gap in what might be the few opportunities
these students get to visit and see much of Anchorage and the surrounding community.
Part of the magic that is the School Business Partnership program is the reciprocity, the mutually beneficial nature of these relationships. Anxious to do its part, Muldoon Elementary will provide care packages for deploying 611th Air Operations Group personnel. At a time when our military personnel are deploying
away from their homes and families, these care packages are a welcome morale booster. |
