NECA/IBEWDenali has successfully partnered with NECA/IBEW since the 2003/2004 school year. During that time, NECA/IBEW has supported, enriched, and enhanced the school experience for close to a thousand children.

Specific contributions:

  • Warm, winter clothing for children in need
  • Backpacks and bike helmets
  • Holiday turkeys

Employee support and presentations:

  • Electrical safety presenters
  • Guest readers
  • Carnival booth operators
  • Barbecue cooks

Gift certificates for academic programs:

  • Books
  • Pizza parties
  • Ice cream socials

NECA/IBEW has also assisted as the “go-between” for Municipal Light and Power, the Municipality of Anchorage, Central Lutheran Church, and the Boys and Girls Club to provide a free after school program for our high-need, at-risk neighborhood kids. They were also the driving force behind the SeaTrain participation. When they became aware that some students may not be able to afford a Denali School t-shirt, they designed and produced a shirt for every child.

"I have yet to hear the word "no" from NECA/IBEW. Actually, I have, as in “NO problem, we can do it. Thank you, IBEW!"
