About us
Anchorage School Business Partnerships started in 1991 and has since grown to over 540 partnerships with an economic value of over $2.5 million. They range from a one person business to large organizations such as BP and FedEx. The organization is supported by both the Anchorage School District and the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce.
Anchorage SBP operates as a non-profit corporation with a Board of Directors that provides guidance and direction for the program as a whole. Partnerships range from a one-person business involved with a school to large corporations involved with many schools and sometimes districtwide. Each partnership starts with an agreement in which both the business and the school outline what the expectations are for each party.

Executive Exchange

The 2012 School Business Executive Exchange took place Dec. 4th at the King Career Center. Seventy six business leaders, school principals and executive staff participated. Each participant was paired and asked to meet in advance at each others work sites. At the Executive Exchange Debrief Luncheon they discussed how businesses and schools benefit from partnerships, the issues or challenges in our community affecting both business and education and opportunities for businesses and schools to seize. The discussion was lively and informative and each table group was given the opportunity to share the highlights of their exchanges.
The stars of the event were the students and staff at the King Career Center who set the tables, made the center pieces, prepared the food and did the serving. At the end of the meal, the students were given a standing ovation for an outstanding job.
