The Star Award was initiated in 1996 to recognize an outstanding partnership in the Anchorage School District (ASD). At that time we had 190 partnerships. Today we have over 540 partnerships, and have increased the Star Awards accordingly. Star Award partnerships are nominated by ASD principals, SBP coordinators or teachers and must meet the following criteria:
- Enthusiastic support of School Business Partnerships and the school or schools with whom the nominee is partnered
- Commitment to educational enhancement of our youth.
- Excellence of what is offered.
- Dedication to the continuation and success of the program.
-
Participation on a regular, dependable, scheduled basis.
- Willingness to be flexible and innovative in supporting and assuring success
Nominations are made by the principals of schools and turned in to the School
Business Partnership Board of Directors. A panel made up of Board members
reviews the nominations and selects the best representative partnerships.
Past Winners
Congratulations to these winners and to all of the Partnerships
who strive to provide the best possible positive enhancement programs for our
Anchorage students.
