Q. I have a disagreement with a professional at my child’s school
regarding his or her education, who do I contact?
A. The Anchorage
School District has several ways you can work through a problem
or concern. The best place to start is with the person
or people closest to the problem. To that end, we encourage
you to try to resolve the issue with your school principal
or appropriate district
administrator. There are times when this is not possible and
you may wonder, "What
do I do now?" Our Superintendent has provided guidance to all parents
on this topic via the ASD Web site on “Problem Solving” located
at: www.asdk12.org/aboutasd/ProblemSolv/.
Q. How do I contact an itinerant services provider (example: speech
language pathologist, occupational therapist, physical
therapist, audiologist or school psychologist)?
A. You may always contact
your child’s school – a listing
of all school contact information is located at: www.asdk12.org/schoollist.asp?level=ALL.
