Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of exemplary teaching experience, the past 3 years in ASD
  
• Considered by principal and all staff as a master educator
  
• Respected by principal, parents and all staff
  
• Strong interpersonal skills recognized by principal and all staff
  
• A willingness to encourage and assist a new person to find their own way even if it is not the same way as the mentor
  
• Open minded with a positive perspective
  
• Exemplifies teacher leadership in other ways at the school site and/or within their community
  
• Interested in mutual professional development
  

Requirements:

• Complete Mentor Communication Skills Training
  
• Completion of Mentor Program application
  
• Recommendation of an administrator and colleague
  

• Up to $800/year after matching with mentee
  
• Up to 2 days release time for observation and debrief
