- to provide a common language that describes best practice
- to guide the design and implementation of professional development experiences
- to link teacher preparation with induction and on-going professional development

Induction Liaison
The Induction Liaison provides an orientation for the new-to-building educators thus acclimating them to the new educational environment and school community.
Suggested key points for discussion:
- District department staff and locations
- District and school procedures, policies, and programs
- Information about feeder schools in the attendance area
- Mandatory training
- MLP
- Email
- AEA/NEA: Introduce to the building rep and the leadership
- Provide membership information, services, location, etc
- Introduce to all school staff, PTSA president
- Tour of the school and grounds
- Coordinate new teacher welcome
- Preparation and how to use the building tech support
- Curriculum overview for the year
- Assessment expectations, options, resources
- Location of the best teacher supply stores
- Key services and places that a new resident needs to know about such as banks, recreation facilities, discount stores, good restaurants, higher learning institutions, entertainment, etc.
Criteria:
- 5 years ASD experience, (3 years in building)
- Principal recommendation
