Leadership Academy for Administrators


Candidates:
Principals in the District interested in being a Mentor need three years of experience and need to demonstrate success in the areas noted in the State of Alaska Standards for Administrators.
Focus:

Build a cadre of administrators to mentor new principals and assistant principals. To help new-to-district and new-to-position administrators transition into their job, and to further reduce attrition for ASD administrator postitions.
Requirements:

 

  •  Completion of training and coursework for Mentors.
  •  Ongoing communication and access between the mentor and mentee.
  •  Participation in the evaluation of the Mentor Program through completion of surveys.
  •  Confidentiality between partners.
  •  Completion of Monthly Journal on MLP
Compensation:
Each Mentor will receive a stipend of $400. ASD
