Principals in the District interested in being a Mentor need three years of experience and need to demonstrate success in the areas noted in the State of Alaska Standards for Administrators.

| Focus: |
|
|
Build a cadre of administrators to mentor new principals and assistant principals. To help new-to-district and new-to-position administrators transition into their job, and to further reduce attrition for ASD administrator postitions. |
| Requirements: |
|
|
- Completion of training and coursework for Mentors.
- Ongoing communication and access between the mentor and mentee.
- Participation in the evaluation of the Mentor Program through completion of surveys.
- Confidentiality between partners.
- Completion of Monthly Journal on MLP
|
| Compensation: |
|
|
Each Mentor will receive a stipend of $400. ASD |
