Newsletters
Using an extensive lending library and large Web site, the STEP Center personnel provide a service-oriented approach to problem solving and location of resources.
This publication is designed to provide information for transition planning for all students, parents and teachers! Since transition planning begins at age 14, articles are included to address the middle school age student as well as high school students. As transition planning is a team process, information about governmental and community resources will also be included.
This newsletter is created for families with preschool aged children. Articles will include important information about developmental stages, health and medical concerns, special needs issues and places to seek further information.
This publication is a statewide disability informational newsletter. It is for educators, parents and people working with individuals with special needs. It is part of the Alaska Family Directory (AFD). The newsletter can be mailed individually for those without a regular Internet access.
Created for families of children with special needs in grades kindergarten through sixth. Elementary Express is published quarterly during the school year. Features of the newsletter include articles to help parents stay informed and connected with community agencies. “Get Connected” highlights a different community agency and “Helping Kids Succeed Alaskan Style” has developmental assets. The Activity Calendar lists events and agencies catering to children in this age range.
Parent Connect is a quarterly newsletter mailed to families of Anchorage School District Special Education students.
It is produced by the ASD STEP Center (Student-Parent-Educator Center), a resource center for everyone.
