Regular Transportation
Regular
Transportation is provided for students living at least 1 and
1/2 miles from their neighborhood school. Bus stops are
established in accordance with Anchorage School District Transportation
Department criteria. Routing schedules are available in the
School Bus Route section.

Special Needs Transportation
Special Needs Transportation is provided for students as a related service and
part of the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP). For more information,

attendants.
Hazardous Transportation
Hazardous
Transportation is provided for students that have to walk across or along an
unsafe roadway that has been designated "hazardous" by the Anchorage School
District Hazardous Transportation Committee and the School Board. The Committee
evaluates areas based on the Hazardous Transportation
Guidelines.
Field Trip and Activity Transportation
Field
Trip and Activity Transportation is also provided by school buses for school
related activities. Transporting students to athletic events and to locations
around Anchorage and South central Alaska to pursue educational opportunities.
The Transportation Department dispatches approximately 6000 field and activity
trips annually.
