Purchasing Student iPads

Devices will be managed by IT. Recommended model for students are the iPad Air (16GB) or iPad Air 2 (64GB) model. Please contact EdTech to discuss which is the better option.

Careful planning is required when integrating new technology with the existing curriculum and technology infrastructure. Therefore, it is critical that schools and departments plan with the Educational Technology (EdTech) and Information Technology (IT) Departments for how they intend to use and support iPads.

Purchasing iPads is a four-step process:

Start Here:

  1. ASD Student iPad FAQ and Considerations
  2. Preparing for Student Shared iPads -updating
  3. Submitting a Proposal
  4. Purchasing the iPads

Student iPads will have a supervised profile installed, and IT will be managing all free and paid apps through the school's VPP account. In order to facilitate this process, an online Google form has been created to configure all student devices. It is the hope of everyone that this process is as streamlined as possible while ensuring that schools have clear plans for the use of these devices to facilitate teaching and learning.
